Sculpting with torn paper evokes for me, the duality of destruction and rebuilding as feeling torn is a recurring theme representing a central paradox of my personal life as a mother/grandmother, partner, sibling and daughter as well as my professional life as an artist, scientist, educator, feminist and practicing Jew. With every decision weighing at least two conflicting needs and the final outcome always leaving someone wanting, and me feeling torn.
This is particularly the case in my depiction of the mortar that holds the house together, but is seldom noticed over the bricks, in I'm Still Standing / בית נאמן
Valued / שוות פרוטה, is a visual culmination of the first stage of my in-depth exploration of the 16 prototypical women found in the parasha of כי תצא למלחמה על אויביך. These comprise most of the different ways in which a woman can become bound to, forbidden or separated from a man.
The group of the four elements, Earth, Wind, Water and Fire, is an exploration in iron as a tool to enlarge and recreate a sketch in clay.

"שוות פרוטה" / Valued הינו תוצר החזותי של צעדי הראשונים במחקר מעמיק על שש עשר נשות האב-טיפוס שמתוארות בפרשת "כי תצא למלחמה על אויביך", בו מוגדרות רוב הדרכים השונות שבהן אישה קנויה, קשורה בקשר מותר או אסור או גרושה מגבר.
ארבעת היסודות אדמה, רוח, מים ואש , היא חקירה בברזל ככלי להגדיל ולשחזר סקיצה בחימר.
